WHAT IS "GOD'S MOJO"?

AND, WHAT DOES "MINISTER OF MOJO" MEAN?

Several years ago Bert developed a sermon based on Acts 11, about the tension between the Jerusalem church and the Gentile believers in Antioch. This theme of God working outside of theology, traditions, doctrine, etc., appears not just in Acts 11, but throughout the Scriptures.

A friend challenged Bert to write a sermon in the language of the blues, and this just fit perfectly - how we religious folks are always workin' our "no-jo" to keep people out, but God's always got His mojo workin' to bring people in.

A short story called "God's Got His Mojo Workin' (The Bluesy Gospel for ALL God's Chillun)" is the result. Bert has presented it in various forms and in different versions in several places. Artist KEN PEASE provided some bluesy artwork, and Bert was tagged as the "Minister of Mojo."
